Prayer Review

I went to morning prayer about two going on three weeks ago.  I haven't been able to go back right now because of obligations that have kept me out of town.  I was so inspired and motivated and uplifted.  I need that so much.  These were the thoughts that came to me later on.

I need to return to my commitment to God on a deeper level.  I need to return to what I am called to be and not what I think I want to be.

I need God to revive me.

I need the joy of my salvation restored.

I need for my spirit to be renewed.

I was told that God is making me, and breaking off some things in the process.  I have to be willing to be broken, but that is easier said than done.  Breaks hurt.

Through this process I believe that I will be elevated in Christ.  Not talking about natural elevations and positions but spiritual.

Going the distance will allow me to discover who I really am in Christ.  That's all I want.

In creating this image, I started with a painted background.  Gesso and then layered acrylics.  The written text, raindrops and flowers were done freehand.  I then took a picture of it on my phone and went into my various photo applications to enhance it.  I apologize for not know which applications I used.  In the future, I will try to keep track of what I have used.  I am sure that I used PhotoStudio Pro and PicsArt.

Knotted Difficulty

Okay, so here I was checking out a link on YouTube.  I should know by now to stay away from that place in regards to artsy stuff.

Well, I was initially looking to see how to create a mandala and I came across this video.  As usual, I probably jumped in at the deep end instead of looking for a beginner project to try out first.

As I thought about this, I said, we as Christians sometimes find ourselves jumping into the deep end.

Sink or swim, baby, sink or swim.

So I had to either try to complete this thing or just give up.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, I am not the give up type of person.  So, I followed the instructions, step by step, line by line with the video.  the first one is a pencil drawing.  (It is the second image)  The second one, I drew following the steps on my first one.

I was all over the place.  I had to begin to understand the flow of what I was trying to do.  It was very difficult.  I could not find the flow until near the end.

Is this not what we find out lives like sometimes.  Knotted up by difficulty.  But the answer is right in front of us.  Follow the word of God, line upon line, precept upon precept.  It is then that we can find success and be complete.

Just a thought I had......

Changes

Life Changes

Each of us must go through changes.  Willing or not, change is inevitable.  How you handle your change is your choice.  Make note of things that bring change, for the good or for the bad.  Keep a record of your life changes and see how God is really working things out for you!

In life changes there are tools that we will need during the process.  I've got inks, scissors, glue, color supplies, water, brushes, stamps, images.  Change requires cutting some things out, stamping new images into our lives and brushing out the residue of past failures and mistakes.

Even when change has come, sometimes there is still a lot of "noise that surrounds us.  How do we delete the noise?  Hone in on what God is speaking into your life.  Focus on his word, immerse yourself in prayer.  Connect with the one who created you and chose you way back BEFORE time began.

As you begin to focus on what God desires, you will find the noise gradually fading into oblivion.  What others desire for you no longer influences who you are or what you do.  Especially if their desires are not your desires and do not line up with what God is doing in your life.

As God continues to design you and make you into his image and his dreams for you, why, look how you begin to shine and blossom and change!  Isn't God amazing?  All the things we can do and become if we only let him do the completed work in us!  Are you ready for CHANGE?

Just Me

There will be many mes.  Someone stated that I like myself.  Well, I do.  Selfies are fun!  I was in the car waiting on the rain to stop.  It was not going to stop.  But in the meantime I took a few photo shots.

1. Here I am waiting
2. Is it going to stop or not.
3. Even if it doesn't, I don't care.
4. I smile, I laugh. I live.
5. ...and sometimes I wonder why.

And so that was a moment.  I would like to think that I am grateful this year that school is finally out.  The last few days were tortuous.  I had many things on my mind that I wanted to do, and trust me, none of them were to be in the classroom trying to teach 30 some odd 6th graders who were ready to go!  But we made and we survived.  The school year has ended and I am grateful.

Purpose

I have found that I like doing different kinds of art.  Or at least trying them.  For example, my new thing is art journaling.  I have no real clue but I am experimenting with what I know and what I discover!  Yes, discover, because I am asking no one.  I am going online, purchasing books and magazines to inspire and inform.  What I create and develop is for me and me alone.  If I like it, well, that's good enough.  If you catch my blog and like it, I appreciate it.  If you have constructive criticism, it will be considered.  If you are just critical, well, it will probably be read and ignored.  No offense, but that's life as I live it right now.....

So, this is one that I did.  Inspired from a morning prayer service I attended.
